Ronaldo denies signing new deal

Cristiano Ronaldo has angrily denied claims he had signed a new Real Madrid contract. The odds tumbled on the 27-year-old making a dramatic return to Manchester United when he tweeted: “All the news about my renewal with Real Madrid are false.” United manager David Moyes is hoping he can persuade the Portuguese superstar to return to Old Trafford as he tweaks the title-winning squad he's inherited following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, but Ronaldo plans to see out his current deal at the Bernabeu.
He has two seasons left on the six-year Real contract signed after his world record £80million move from the Reds to Madrid in 2009. It is understood that Ronaldo’s strategy is to run down his contract - allowing him to leave for nothing in 2015 – then demand a £60m signing-on fee from his next club. Real president Florentino Perez is desperate to tie him to a longer deal, ensuring the player stays in Madrid through the peak years of his career, and had leaked claims he was to remain until 2018.
Elsewhere, in more speculation-based reporting, the Daily Star claims David Moyes has not given up on signing Cesc Fabregas, despite the Barcelona midfielder admitting rumours of him leaving the Nou Camp are “absurd”. Nevertheless, the tabloid says the new United boss is willing to wait for the former Arsenal captain and is prepared to pay up to £40million for his services.
Meanwhile, The Metro says Schalke playmaker Julian Draxler has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to Chelsea and United after admitting it would be hard to turn down a move to either club. “Which boy doesn’t dream about playing for Real, Barca, Chelsea or Manchester United? There is nothing to be ashamed of,” Draxler is quoted.
